Justin James Farrell, 39, passed away unexpectedly two days short of his 40th birthday. Doing what he loved with who he loved, Justin Farrell (“Jersey” or “Rooster”) was taken much too soon by a lightning strike atop a mountain ridge while bowhunting with his love, Kyndel.
A Life of Adventure
Justin was truly skilled. At every stage of life, he excelled at taking on new hobbies and passions. From soccer and skateboarding as a kid to ranching, hunting, and fishing as an adult, Justin embodied what it means to hone a craft.
Being outdoors away from the rest of the world was where Justin felt the most at peace. Not many people can say they made time in their lives to do what made them truly happy, but Justin certainly did. He got to see his country and all its natural beauty in a way that very few get to, especially as a kid originally from New Jersey.
Justin’s spirit was made for adventure. From skateboarding backwards down a flight of stairs inside of his middle school to taking on rugged Alaskan hunts and roping bears cowboying in Montana, Justin wasn’t afraid of anything.
Strength, Loyalty & Love
Like nature, Justin was strong, but he also had a gentle side. He had a special ability and patience to teach others.
Justin loved deeply and showed that love by taking care of the people around him. He was steady, loyal, protective, and he knew how to make the people he loved feel safe.
Family & Those He Loved
Justin was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey on August 16, 1986, but he called Arco, Idaho and Elko, Nevada home.
He is survived by his girlfriend Kyndel Sterling and her two children, Grecian (“G”) and Lux; his mother and father, Leslie and James Farrell; his sister, Chelsea Farrell, brother-in-law, Patrick O’Neill, and soon to be earthside niece, Mae Farrell O’Neill; and his sister, Sarah Farrell and her boyfriend, Trevor Quist.
Justin was fortunate to have found his home away from home at Champagne Creek Ranch in Arco, Idaho where he is survived by Monte and Anne MacConnell, and their four daughters who he saw as his little sisters too, Montana and her husband Teddy Ertel, Josie, Hadley, and Justin’s goddaughter, Scarlett.
Justin also leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, cousins, mining coworkers, hunting buddies, and many more.
