Jean Elinor Bolinger passed away on July 9, 2026, from complications of pneumonia. She will be remembered for her beautiful voice, her deep love for her family, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering faith.

Early Life

Jean was born on August 2, 1934, in Kellogg, Idaho, to Joseph and Edith Wiberg.

She grew up with a love for music that would remain one of the defining joys of her life. Her talent as a vocalist blessed countless performances and touched many lives over the years.

Music & Talents

Jean was an accomplished singer who shared her gift generously throughout her lifetime.

She performed with numerous local musical groups and had the opportunity to sing in many venues, including the prestigious Carnegie Hall.

Whether performing before large audiences or simply singing among family and friends, music brought Jean tremendous joy and became one of the ways she expressed her love for life.

Family

Above all else, Jean was devoted to her family.

When she wasn't singing or working outside the home, she spent countless hours supporting her five children—driving them to dance lessons, sporting events, and the many activities that filled their childhoods. She found great happiness in encouraging each of them and making family her highest priority.

Simple Joys

Jean found beauty in life's simple pleasures.

She loved taking long drives, exploring country roads simply to see where they might lead. Those quiet adventures gave her opportunities to appreciate the beauty around her and satisfy her curiosity about the world.

Faith

Jean was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her faith remained an important foundation throughout her life and guided her love for family, service, and those around her.

Survivors

Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Dale Bolinger; her children, Vernon (Stefanie) Bolinger, Ray (Tara) Bolinger, Ann (David) Hungerford, Stan (Christine) Bolinger, and Ron Bolinger; her sister, Lois Goforth; her grandchildren, Desirae (Jonny), Mallory (Ben), Dale (Marleis), Joseph, Lora (Cameron), Anders, RaeAnna, Jacquelyn, Kathryn, and Vivian; and her great-grandchildren, Logan, Jesse, Samuel, Arus, Rayna, Allison, Brooklyn, Aira, Conner, and Aivy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Edith Wiberg, and her sister, Beth.

A Lasting Legacy

Jean will be remembered for the music she shared, the love she gave so freely to her family, and the quiet faith that guided her life. Her voice may now be silent on earth, but the memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
