Launa Jeanne Hanson, daughter of Bob and Lolanne Hanson, was born on May 15, 1973, in John Day, Oregon. She passed away peacefully on the morning of Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, following a courageous battle with liposarcoma.

Launa was the fourth of six siblings, with the third having been stillborn. She was raised on a farm in Oregon, where she developed a lifelong love for animals, nature, and the outdoors.

Marriage & Home

In 2009, Launa married Baldomero Corona Jr. Together they shared a loving home filled with animals, including several cherished cats and two rescue dogs, Rascal and Honey. Later, during her illness, Launa found a puppy and named him Horatio. She found great comfort in Horatio’s companionship, and he brought laughter, light, and joy to her days.

Interests & Personality

Launa found happiness in simple, meaningful pleasures—painting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, determination, creative spirit, and infectious humor, as well as for the deep love she shared so freely with those around her.

Services

Funeral services will be livestreamed on January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. for non–immediate family members (please check back for the link). A dinner will follow at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Launa girl! Thank you for being such a beautiful part of a chapter in my younger years of life. We may or may not have wore a lot of black and cut out 1000s of hearts we taped on people's houses, cars, apartments and had so many laughs. Our apartment had so many candles I'm surprised we didn't burn the place down. Every time I hear Concrete blonde, Delite or Depeche Mode I will think of you. Also the game "life on the farm" you made us play a million times. My favorite memory is when you went with Michelle B when they eloped and we got called into the bishops office. We called it "Mormon girls gone wild". So many memories with such an amazing woman. Please give hugs to my mom and know that your time on earth will not be forgotten.
