Anne Marie Callahan suddenly passed away early morning, January 25, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Meridian, Idaho due to complication from an earlier heart attack. Born to Thomas James and Barbara Ann Bane, she was the oldest of 4 children. Anne was born at the Naval Balboa Hospital located in San Diego, California. As a Naval Officer for a father, their family lived in Massachusetts, Virginia and finally returning to California to finish raising their children in Chula Vista. Anne and Patrick were married in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, June 22, 1973.
Anne is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband, Patrick Callahan; Thomas Callahan, son, Kiersten Callahan (daughter-in-law); Kimberly Baker, daughter, Clint Baker (son-in-law); Devin Callahan, son, Stephanie Callahan (daughter-in-law); and grandchildren: Torrey, Madison, Jackson, Kennedy, McKenzie, (Brentley), Carter, (Haylee), Corbin, Keatyn, Conlie, Jordyn, Orion, Journee, Grant, (Carissa), Ellen, Lynessa, Rebecca and Jessica. Also, Siblings: Debra Clark, (Wyman), Joseph Bane, (Carol), Thomas Bane, (Vickie).
Anne loved to travel and was able to visit many parts of the world and recently traveled with their children and their spouses to Ireland, England, Belgium, France and Switzerland; Anne was already planning our next trip. Anne served faithfully in her Ward, Stake and Temple (San Diego) and while residing in San Diego, she was awarded the “Volunteer of the Year 2012” by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors and the Citizens of San Diego County for her dedicated service to the children of the San Diego Child Welfare Service Department.
