Darrell passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at his home in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by family. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully as a Bishop and held many other callings throughout his life.
Darrell lived a rich and fulfilling life alongside his beloved wife of 72 years, Verla Ruth Arnold. Together, they raised five sons—Lane, Jack, Neil, Mark, and Alan. The family spent twenty years in Pocatello, Idaho, before moving to Nampa in 1971 when Darrell took a management position with the PFE division of Union Pacific Railroad.
He had a deep love for gardening, spending countless hours planting and caring for his garden. He especially enjoyed working at the church orchard, gleaning and canning the harvest, and growing his own fruit to make delicious freezer jams.
Darrell is survived by his cherished wife, Ruth; his children, Jack (Becky) Fullmer and Mark (Sheryl) Fullmer; and daughters-in-law, Debi and Sherrie Fullmer. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Lane, Neil, and Alan; granddaughters, Collette, Jennifer, and Liz Fullmer; as well as his parents and siblings.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 927 Ruth Ln, Nampa, ID. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with a graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Relief Society and church members, Ancora Hospice Health Services, and Zeyer Funeral Chapel for their compassionate care and support.
