Jayce Josiah Lowry, 23, of Boise, Idaho, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, July 28th, 2026.
Early Life & Education
Jayce was born on October 2nd, 2002, to John and Diane Lowry in Boise, Idaho.
Jayce graduated high school from Capital High in 2021 and maintained a 4.0 GPA. On top of that, he was actively involved in the JROTC program and was a talented athlete, competing in track and field.
In recognition of his academic achievements and leadership, Jayce received the Military Order of the World Wars Junior ROTC Award of Merit. He was also one of the only recipients in the state of Idaho to have a five-star general present the award to him.
Academic Excellence
Jayce’s academic dedication was unmatched. He went on to double major in computer sciences and mathematics at Boise State University and was set to graduate with the highest honors in December of 2026.
At BSU, he continued to hold a 4.0 GPA, despite the rigor of his course load and fields of study. If he ever found the assignments too easy, he would challenge himself and use his wit to work outside the box and make his projects more interesting.
This dedication even earned him a rare 155/150 grade in one of his Java classes.
Life, Laughter & Family
Outside of his academic excellence, Jayce loved hiking, snowboarding, Star Wars, playing video games, and spending time with his family.
He had a quiet reassurance about him and was quick to offer a listening ear and the biggest bear hug. He brought a gentleness and peace with him into every room.
Hiding just beneath the surface of his calm exterior was the wittiest, silliest personality. This was especially apparent when he was with his brother and sisters.
He loved a good meme. He’d slip in the perfect anecdote or comment with such dry humor it would sometimes take a second for your brain to process and your laughter to catch up. He could find the humor in any situation and his laughter was infectious.
Jayce is deeply loved and his memory will continue to live on with his family.
Survived By
Jayce is survived by his grandmother Christy Lowry; father John Lowry (Jen); mother Diane Stoecker (Craig); sister Amanda Browne (Chris); brother Ezra Lowry (Kara); and sister Hannah Lowry (Alexa).
