Early Life
Shannon Ray Osborn was born on May 15, 1976, in Ontario, Oregon, to Bert and Sue Osborn of Payette, Idaho. She grew up surrounded by family, friendship, and the beauty of Idaho’s rivers and small-town life.
A Life of Heart and Joy
Shannon passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2025, at the age of 49, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love.
She spent nearly her entire life in Payette, except for her years attending Albertson’s College and Idaho State University. Her childhood was filled with adventure, rafting Idaho’s rivers with her family and building cherished memories along the way. As an adult, she continued her spirit of exploration by traveling to visit many of the foreign exchange students her family hosted through the Lions Club program.
Personality & Passions
Shannon was known for her big heart and her unwavering loyalty to those she loved. She was always ready to help others and cared deeply for her friends and family. Her closest friends, Michelle (Thomas) Hymas and Jessica (Birch) Ross, shared many joyful memories with her, and their passing too soon left a deep mark on her heart.
A creative spirit, Shannon loved the arts, especially music, movies, and reading. She could hold a conversation—or a debate—on almost any topic, always with intelligence and passion. She enjoyed being around people and actively participated in her community as a member of Eastern Star and P.E.O.
Family
Shannon is survived by her mother, Sue Osborn; her sister, Jacquelynne Osborn; her nephew, Carter; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bert Osborn, and her grandparents.
Service Information
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (MST) at the United Methodist Church in Payette, Idaho.
A procession will follow to the Evergreen Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately afterward at The Plaza Inn in Ontario, Oregon.
Legacy
Shannon will be remembered for her humor, compassion, and genuine love for others. Her laughter, kindness, and warmth will continue to inspire those blessed to have known her.
