Early Life
Heath Hiett Ashby was born on May 22, 1979, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gail (Butch) and Kathleen (Watkins) Ashby. From the beginning, Heath’s life was filled with family, love, and adventure. He grew into a man remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Marriage & Family
On September 24, 2005, Heath married the love of his life, Brenda Hendrix. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two sons, Tyler (Lizzie) and Hunter, who were his greatest pride and joy. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
Passions & Personality
Heath lived life to the fullest, guided by his motto:
“I’m not here for a long time, but I’m here for a good time. Live life to the fullest.”
A lifelong sports fan, Heath cheered passionately for BYU and the Utah Jazz. He also had a deep love of history and was thrilled to fulfill his dream of visiting Washington, D.C. with Brenda earlier this year.
He embraced adventure and fun—camping, shooting, playing pool, building big fires, or simply enjoying time with family and friends. With a sharp wit, quick smile, and uncanny ability to quote movies at just the right time, Heath made every gathering brighter. Known as the “fun uncle,” he made everyone feel welcome and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Career
Professionally, Heath found great purpose and joy working for Rema Tip Top. He was proud of the products he represented, but even more so of the strong relationships he built with his co-workers, who became like a second family. He cherished the laughter, camaraderie, and sense of belonging that defined his work life.
Family
Heath is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Ashby; his sons Tyler (Lizzie) and Hunter; his mother, Kathy; and his brothers, Travis (Natalie), Troy (Laura), and Brandon (Rochelle) Ashby. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Ken (Tami) and Phil Hendrix, sisters-in-law Wendy (Chuck) Graf and Kathy (Tom) Wyly, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Butch Ashby.
