Opening Statement
With deep sorrow and love, the family of Amie Nichole Childers announces her passing on January 5, 2025, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in a fall. She was 46 years old.

Early Life
Amie was born on November 26, 1978, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Kate Yager and Jim Childers. In 1994, she moved with her family to Tallahassee, Florida, where she attended Leon High School.

As a young adult, she briefly lived in Texas and Oregon, but Florida remained her true home, and in 2007 she returned to Tallahassee, where she lived for the rest of her life.

Career & Passions
Amie worked with the nonprofit Bright Ideas Gives, helping the homeless—work that reflected her compassionate spirit and Christian faith. Helping others was her passion, and even after death, she continued to give as an organ donor, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and love.

Family & Community
Amie’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved children: Aliyah Wurster, Dominique Kinion, Micaiah Childers, Psevyn Childers, and Ireland Childers; and two cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her parents, Kate Yager and Jim (Patti) Childers; her siblings: Tomi (Andy) Hooks, Marina Childers, Brianne Verraneault, Wintry Verraneault, and Samantha Childers; as well as her partner, Thaddeus Colson, and a large extended family.

Her community in Tallahassee deeply mourns this loss. A plaque honoring Amie’s life will be placed in one of Tallahassee’s parks as a lasting tribute.
