Opening Statement
With love and gratitude, the family of Clarice Joan Webster announces her peaceful passing in August 2025. Joan’s life was defined by faith, love, resilience, and devotion to family.
Early Life
Joan was born on November 10, 1937, in Bayard, Nebraska, to Vern and Clarice Pullen. In 1947, the family moved to Emmett, Idaho, and shortly thereafter to Notus, Idaho, where Joan attended school.
Marriage & Family
At a basketball game in Notus, Joan met a young referee, Walter Webster Jr. What began as a chance meeting quickly blossomed into a lifelong love. The couple was married on June 26, 1954, and together built a home centered in love, faith, and family.
They welcomed three children: Ellen Marie, Timothy Wayne, and Clay Alan. Together, they raised their family in Payette County, eventually settling in New Plymouth, where they created a lasting home.
Career & Interests
Joan worked at the weigh station and in child services, but in 1980, following her diagnosis with MS, she chose to focus her energy on her family and home. Despite her health challenges, she remained strong and selfless, often putting the needs of others above her own.
She loved her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her home was always filled with energy, laughter, and love. Joan enjoyed crafting, filling her home with handmade treasures, and was a devoted BSU fan, rarely missing a game. She also found strength and renewal each week through her attendance at church.
Family Losses
Tragedy touched Joan’s life with the passing of her son, Timothy, in 1976, but she carried her family through with courage and strength. She also endured the loss of her parents, her brother Joe, and many other loved ones, yet she remained the steady, loving heart of her family.
