With love and gratitude for her remarkable life, the family of Lorene Zimmerman announces her peaceful passing at home on August 10, 2025, in American Falls, Idaho.

Early Life
Lorene was born on September 3, 1941, in American Falls, Idaho, to Layton and Pauline Morris. The eldest of six children, she entered the world alongside her twin sister, Florene. Lorene held a deep love for her parents and treasured memories of her childhood, especially playing with her neighbors, the Gunner family.

Marriage & Family
On November 16, 1958, Lorene married the love of her life, David Zimmerman. Together they built a marriage grounded in their faith in Jesus Christ, a true testament to devotion and commitment. Lorene’s greatest joy was being a homemaker and caring for her husband. She supported David faithfully in his work on the family farm and ranch, often saying the happiest time in her life was simply being at his side.

They were blessed with a family that brought her immense joy:

  • Son: Robert (Jamie) Zimmerman of Ridgefield, Washington
  • Daughters: Jane (Scott) Thompson of American Falls, Idaho; and Julie (Rick) Campfield of Vancouver, Washington
  • Foster son: Jim (Tena) Sprague of American Falls, Idaho

Lorene was a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She and David also opened their home to several exchange students from Germany, Switzerland, and Finland, expanding their family circle across the world.

Faith, Service, & Community
A dedicated and active member of her church, Lorene served faithfully in many roles. She taught Sunday school for most of her adult life, sharing her love for “little kids,” and also oversaw women’s ministries, organized food for countless events, and mentored young women in the missionary program.

Lorene was known for her warm hugs, her kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. She was generous in her kitchen—feeding family, friends, farm crews, and ensuring there was always dessert or a sweet treat ready. Her home reflected her personality, decorated with her favorite pink and green and filled with her beloved collections of horses, frogs, and pigs. Music brought her special joy, and she loved to sing along to any tune.

Her greatest accomplishment was living a life of faith and love, which she credited entirely to Jesus. She believed the world was full of love, and she lived accordingly—bringing joy and peace to those around her.

Acknowledgments
The family extends heartfelt thanks to her devoted caregiver, Lety Alcaraz, whose compassion was a great blessing during Lorene’s final year.
