Maurine Driscoll
Maurine Duffin Driscoll, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong resident of Aberdeen, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025 in American Falls, Idaho. She was born July 14, 1934 in Aberdeen, Idaho to Loraine Thornton Duffin and Grace Cobbley Duffin. Her siblings are Keith Duffin (wife Louise, deceased) and Vern Duffin (deceased) and his wife Marilyn Duffin.
Maurine married the love of her life, Wallace Wride Driscoll, on February 14, 1952, in Aberdeen. They were sealed for time and all eternity August 5,1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they built a legacy of faith and family. They are the proud parents of eight children: Brock (Tena) Driscoll, Dirk (Dayna) Driscoll, Leslie (Ron) Ellis, Linda (Reid) Turley, Loraine (Tamara) Driscoll, Thayne (Andra) Driscoll, Lincoln (Stephanie) Driscoll, and Amanda (Kirk) Permann. Their posterity includes 48 grandchildren, 109 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Maurine deeply cherished her divine role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. One of her greatest joys in life was raising her family and spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. A wonderful cook, she loved hosting family dinners for holidays and special gatherings—creating lasting memories. Her home was always filled with warmth and love. She also found great joy in nurturing beautiful flowers in her yard and growing a bountiful garden.
Maurine had a rare gift for making people feel seen, loved, and valued. She truly loved reaching out to others—whether it was a warm visit, a thoughtful act of service, or a listening ear. Her kindness touched many lives and left an imprint of love. She blessed the lives of all who crossed her path.
Maurine and Wally were also their family’s biggest fans—attending countless baseball, softball, basketball, and football games over the years. Whether cheering from the bleachers or bundled up on the sidelines, she showed up with unwavering love and support for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her presence at those events meant the world to them, and her encouragement will never be forgotten.
She lovingly showed up for life's important moments. She delighted in attending recitals, baptisms, weddings, birthdays, and so many other special occasions. Simply by being there, she reminded her loved ones how much they mattered.
Throughout her life, she was actively involved in her family’s farming and ranching efforts in the Sterling, Aberdeen, and Pleasant Valley areas. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings. She was always ready to offer service, and she fulfilled her responsibilities with humility, love, and dedication to the Lord. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and spent countless hours preserving family history, leaving behind a meaningful legacy for future generations.
Alongside her eternal companion, Wally, she served in the Idaho Falls Temple for nearly 25 years. Together, they served as temple missionaries in the Washington D.C. Temple and the Mexico City Temple—experiences they treasured deeply.
Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and quiet, consistent service. She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, her deep love for the Savior, and the lasting impact she brought to all who knew her.
The family wishes to express deeply grateful to the wonderful caregivers at Cornerstone Caregivers and Edgewood Assisted Living and One Source Home Health and Hospice who treated our mom with such love, dignity, and kindness in her final days.
