Joel Leroy Hunt, age 71, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 18, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Milton and Marilyn Hunt.

Joel is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Dianne, and his six children: Jared Hunt, Sandra Lindgren, Dustin Hunt, Neal Hunt, Jill Proctor, and Brandon Hunt. He was the proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom will deeply miss him.

At the age of 19, Joel served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England, where he had a profound impact on those he met and built lasting friendships. His faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, was the focal point of his life, guiding him in every decision and relationship. His unwavering devotion to his faith and service to others was a constant example to all who knew him.

Joel was a proud graduate of Brigham Young University (BYU), where he developed his passion for accounting. He worked diligently in his own CPA practice while also serving in various roles for other companies, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, clients, and business partners.

His work was defined by his integrity, attention to detail, and his ability to build lasting relationships, both in his professional and personal life.

Outside of his professional life, Joel was known for his deep love of writing, particularly poetry, through which he expressed his thoughts, emotions, and creativity. His poetry touched the hearts of many and will be remembered as a beautiful part of his legacy.

Joel had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and cherished his time in nature, finding peace and joy in the stillness by the water.

He was also an avid player of pickleball and golf, sharing many happy moments on the court and course with friends and family. One of his greatest joys was playing card games with his loved ones, where laughter and good times were always guaranteed.

Joel’s family was the center of his world. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his loved ones first. His kindness, wisdom, humor, and generosity impacted everyone around him, and his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him.

A funeral service to honor Joel’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the LDS Chapel, 11288 W Roosevelt Ave, Nampa, Idaho. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 AM.

Joel’s memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He touched many lives with his love, creativity, and warmth, and his legacy will continue through all who knew him.
